Storage
Storage usage is based on the files you upload.
What counts
- The originals of uploaded photos
- Other files you upload, such as watermark images and logos
Folio also generates previews and thumbnails for display. Use the storage figure shown in Settings for the current total.
Check usage
Open Settings › Workspace to view current storage usage.
When storage is full
If you reach your storage limit, uploads may be paused until space is available. You can free space by deleting content you no longer need, or change plan in Settings › Workspace › Plans if you need more storage.
Removing and deleting content
Folio has three separate operations. They are not interchangeable.
| Operation | What happens |
|---|---|
| Remove a photo from a gallery | Select the photo in the gallery editor and click Remove from gallery. The photo is taken out of the gallery. It does not go to Trash |
| Move a gallery to Trash | Right-click the gallery and choose Move to trash. The gallery can be restored for 30 days. After that it is deleted |
| Delete a portfolio | Click Delete portfolio in Settings › Portfolio › Branding. The portfolio and every gallery in it are deleted. This can't be undone |
A gallery in Trash still counts toward storage. Its space is freed once the gallery is deleted, either after 30 days or when you choose Delete permanently in Trash. The storage figure can take some time to update.
Removing a photo, moving a gallery to Trash, and deleting a portfolio all affect what visitors can see. Review your public galleries first.
